A Stradivari model violin made by Azzo Rovescalli, c. 1918, in particularly fine condition. Rovescalli was a pupil of the Antoniazzis and this instrument was made for the shop of Antonio Monzino in Milan. The two-piece maple back is of irregular broad and narrow curl descending slightly from the center joint. The two-piece spruce table is of fairly even broad grain. The varnish is an reddish- orange brown color over a golden ground. Measurements: Length of Back: 357 mm, Upper Bouts: 168 mm, Middle Bouts: 113 mm, Lower Bouts: 202 mm.
