The son of the great Venetian maker Eugenio Degani, Giulio Degani took over his father’s shop in 1901. He later emigrated to the U.S. in 1915, where he worked for the Wurlitzer shops in both New York & Cincinnati (1918). Ultimately, he opened his own workshop in 1924. Degani?s label in this violin dedicates the instrument to Eugene Numrich. The one-piece maple back is of narrow curl. The two-piece spruce table is of narrow grain. The varnish is a reddish-brown color. Measurements: Length of Back: 356 mm, Upper Bouts: 167 mm, Middle Bouts: 112 mm, Lower Bouts: 205 mm.
