A viola made by Philadelphia maker Helmuth Keller, and modeled after the Vieuxtemps Gasparo da Salo viola, in particularly fine condition. The two-piece maple back is of medium-narrow curl descending from the center joint. The two-piece spruce table is of medium to fine grain broadening towards the flanks. The varnish is a reddish orange brown color over golden ground. Measurements: Length of Back: 420 mm, Upper Bouts: 209 mm, Middle Bouts: 146 mm, Lower Bouts: 249 mm, String Length: 369 mm.
