A silver mounted violin bow for George Dupuy, by Louis Gillet, stamped: DUPUY A PARIS; the octagonal stick of orange-brown pernambuco with a silver tip and original tinsel winding; the ebony frog with pearl eyes and silver rings to the sides; the ebony adjuster with silver sheath; weight 59.7 grams. In particularly fine condition. Louis Henri Gillet was born in 1891, worked for Thibouville-Lamy from 1906-1911, then Laberte, and for Sartory (after the departure of Jules Fetique) from 1934 until 1946, and after Sartory’s death in 1946, worked for His son-in-law Dupuy until 1951.
