A gold mounted violin bow by Malcolm Taylor of London (1933-2012), stamped: MALCOLM M. TAYLOR; also stamped on the stick under the frog “48178/ ENGLAND” the octagonal stick of pernambuco with a gold tip and original whalebone winding; the ebony frog (set into a track) with pearl eyes and gold rings to the sides; the ebony adjuster with gold bands and a pearl eye at the end; weight 59.5 grams. In near mint condition. Malcolm Taylor joined the firm of W. E. Hill & Sons in 1949 and returned in 1956 after leaving for military service. He left the firm to pursue independent work as a bowmaker.
