A very fine Guarneri del Gesu model violin made by Nestor Audinot, and sold with the certificate of Bernard Millant. Nester Dominique Audinot was born in Mirecourt in 1842, worked in Paris for Sebastien Vuillaume in the 1860s, and took over J. B. Vuillaume’s business upon his death in 1875. The one-piece maple back is of medium curl ascending from left to right. The two-piece spruce table is of fine grain broadening towards the flanks. The varnish is a golden orange-brown color. Measurements: Length of Back: 356 mm, Upper Bouts: 169 mm, Middle Bouts: 114 mm, Lower Bouts: 205 mm.
