A Stradivari model violin made by the workshop of Paul Bailly, c. 1904. Born in Mirecourt, Bailly worked for Jules Gaillard, Nicolas Fran?ois Vuillaume, and for his brother J.B. Vuillaume in Paris. The one-piece maple back is of medium curl ascending slightly from left to right. The two-piece spruce table is of fine grain broadening towards the flanks. The varnish is a red-brown color over a yellow golden ground. Measurements: Length of Back: 357 mm, Upper Bouts: 166 mm, Middle Bouts: 111 mm, Lower Bouts: 206 mm.
