A violin made for and sold by William Moennig and Son in Philadelphia in the 1920s and 1930s, under the trade name Eulo Dorfino( though this instrument bears an Alberti Blanchi/1895 label). The handsome two-piece maple back is of medium curl ascending from the center joint. The ribs are also of medium curl and the head is of plain grain. The two-piece table is of fine grain broadening to the flanks. The varnish is a semi-antiqued reddish orange-brown color over a yellow-gold ground. Measurements: Length of back 359mm, Lower bout 206mm, Middle bout 115mm, Upper bout: 172mm.
