A powerful viola made by local maker Robert Brode, who has made many instruments for violists within the Philadelphia Orchestra and other reputable orchestras around the country. The two-piece maple back is of medium curl ascending from the center joint. The two-piece spruce table is of even fine grain. The varnish is a shaded reddish orange brown color over a pale yellow ground. Measurements: Length of Back: 443 mm, Upper Bouts: 202 mm, Middle Bouts: 140 mm, Lower Bouts: 250 mm, String Length: 376 mm.
