A silver mounted violin bow by W. E. Hill & Sons of London, the work of Arthur John Barnes (worked at Hills 1919-1939), branded: W.E. HILL & SONS ENGLAND. The strong, stiffer quality to the stick lends the bow a smooth, elegant character, without any harshness or grittiness. The strong octagonal stick is of handsome reddish-brown pernambuco with a silver tip and whalebone winding. The truly fine frog has pearl eyes and silver rings to the sides, and is set in a full track. The ebony adjuster has a silver sheath. Weight 60 grams. In excellent condition though with some wear to the handle
